Domino Village
DOMINO is a small, welcoming village bordered by vineyards on one side where local wine, pinot and cognac are produced, and by a large maritime pine forest on the other side which extends all the way to the beach. The name Domino originates from the fact that the village is situated next to the highest sand dune on Oléron (about 30 meters high), the top of which ‘dominates’ the Island, This small village has preserved a traditional charm with its narrow streets lined with hollyhocks.
DOMINO’s ‘GRANDE PLAGE’ is a beautiful south-facing sandy beach, on the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is supervised in season.
The village hosts a large daily market with fresh food, local produce, crafts and clothes during the summer months.

Saint-Denis d’Oléron Lighthouse
The majestic Chassiron lighthouse is near the town of Saint-Denis-d’Oléron, overlooking the Passage of Antioch, with unforgettable views from its summit at 46 meters. (Wikipedia). It is surrounded by beautiful beaches and there are plenty of restaurants, gift shops and amusements for children.
Cycle Paths
During the last ten years, a network of 110 kilometers of bicycle paths have been built around the island. These bicycle lanes are mostly car-free and are often a more direct route to places than going by road.
